or wordless mercoledi if you will.
so thiiiiiis is pretty much how my girls are feeling about each other right now.
check out the faces in the back seat. yeah. last nerve.
being in one to two rooms with each other since june 16 is kind of starting to wear thin.
you would not believe the tattling and button pushing that’s happening right now.
thankfully i live in the land of prosecco and nothing helps the tattles like some bubbly does.
that is all.

Ah, the memories! I have two girls, 15 months apart. At that age and through to high school, though they each had their own rooms, I could tell what kind of day we would have before they emerged from the rooms in the morning! Haha! They are 37 and 35 now, live miles apart, and sometime I get that same feeling from a phone call from one or the other!! Life changes, but some things always feel the same! Enjoy the great days, hoping they far outnumber the crazy ones!
Candy says
Interesting that the oldest is still required to have a car seat, even in Italy. She seems big enough to opt out. But I know the rules have changed since my boys were young. It does seem hard to work with. How do kids travel in taxi cabs?
Stephanie Howell says
oh goodness, yes. she will have to be in a booster until she is quite a bit older. she is only seven and she doesnt weigh much π

Been there when we moved to the states. 6 weeks in a hotel apartment – 2 rooms was not enough space for anyone to have there own. Its ok for Daddy as he gets to go to work. We spent a lot of time at the pool and in museums just to get out of there.
Sandy says
Thanks for this humorous post! I love the photo of the girls.
I couldn’t agree more on prosecco! Grappa if it is really bad;)
Look forward to your next post:)
Jonnelle says
So glad your van is there so you can explore more and that your van will give the girls more spread out (get away from my sister) room!
Kelly P says
looks like we have the same van? Odyssey? I only have three in ours (and mine are much older than yours- 13, 11, and 8)and we still hear “she’s touching me!!!” and “his feet are near my vision– make them mooooove” on long trips.
ginny says
Wow look at those faces! They tell the whole story. Is one of the twins (I think Lucy) the good one or the really really in trouble one to be by herself? Have your household things made there yet? Things will be better when you’re in the apartment. Have an extra glass of wine this evening!
Kami says
LOL!!! But they are so cute! And your pic makes me miss my mini van. I loved having that second row seat out so that the kids could easily hop in. So happy that your mini van has arrived in Italy. π
maggieb! says
The thing that cracks me up is that Lucy is grinning. Is it because she doesn’t have any tentacles touching her?
Here is a trick: give them each a roll of dimes (or nickels). When one of them annoys, tattles, or bothers a sister, she has to give you a coin. Trust me, they are going to want to keep their coins. This will work at least for the Bigs. And that is half the battle. maggieb!

Oh I feel for you and remember our days in TLF VERY vividly!! Hope the apartment goes smoothly for you and you get out of just a small 2 rooms very soon!
Kate says
Have you tried their limoncello? Just one tiny glass might do the trick. My twins are 12 right now, and still share a room, so it can be done. But you’ d better opt for a big appartment, and seperate rooms if you have a choice! Hang in there: adagio!
Peg says
LOL, that made me laugh so hard. I’m sure it’s exasperating but such looks even from sweet Harper! π Hang in there Mom and enjoy the prosecco!
Patricia Dunbar says
OH how funny….thank goodness you are in Italy since there is a LOT of wine there because trust me you are going to need it all….they haven’t even hit the teens yet! OH BEWARE when they do!

Oh honey! I will tell you that later in life when you bring these photos back up, they will buy YOU the wine because they will feel guilty for torturing you π I like the idea about the roll of coins a follower brought up…but I’d start with pennies because I can totally see Sadie throwing the whole dang thing at Harper!!!! π
Nita K. says
I probably shouldn’t have giggled, but those faces…
Erin R. says
Haper and Sadie look so grown up in the picture. Perhaps it is the brooding teenage-esque facial expressions that are making them look so older. ;o) Loving the three scowls from the back and the paci masked smile from the front. Hoping that things improve soon.

Funny picture! We spent 3 1/2 months last year in the Ederle as we waited for our apartment in Centro. Although I only have two children and they are teenagers, I still understand the stress you feel right now! Hang in there. Living downtown is totally worth it. By the way, my name is Beth. I actually sent you an email earlier to introduce myself and welcome you to Italy. You can get in touch with me anytime if you need advice on Italy!
CJ says
That’s a great photo, it really does speak a thousand words! Hope everything is sorted with your new apartment soon.
Kim S. says
how cute that the one who’s sitting alone is all smiles behind that paci! It’s like she got the good seat. HAHA!
Shelley says
Wow, beautiful! You’re so lucky to be immersed and living in Italy. Be sure to plan a trip to Croatia while you’re there.
