two weeks have passed since these precious babies came into the world.
two weeks ago at this very moment i was in the hospital waiting for them. not so patiently. :)look at that belly!!
two weeks ago tonight i held them for the very first time!
in the spirit of my promise to cherish the moments with them, since these are the last babies i will have, i’ve come up with a list of things i love most about them. the “newborn” things that i’ve forgotten from when harper and sadie were babies.
– scrunched up limbs, especially the legs. it’s so HARD to hold those suckers up during diaper changes, hence the reason that one or two times one of them may or may not have ended up with poop on the foot. hee.
– sleeping with eyes open, kind of freaky but also funny. lucy’s eyes roll back in her head while she’s eating.
– bird peeps/screeches
– spazzy facial expressions. my personal favorite is the “o” mouth. cate is also fond of making very suspicious eyes at me.
– frantic to eat, head bobbing reflex.
– finger grabbing
– sounds they make as they sleep. sleeping “like a baby” is NOT quiet.
– balled up fists
– long skinny feet
– little fingernails, those stinkers are SHARP.
– morro reflex, aka jazz hands
– loud LOUD poops. seriously. newborns have no shame in sharing their business.
– their smell. sigh. especially their hair.
so glad you are here, baby girls!
one more thing, if you have time today PLEASE visit this blog and read this special, touching post. and please give if you can. can you imagine living in a country where special needs children were deemed useless, in essence? it breaks my heart.
have a great day.
xoxo
