When I think about questions I’ve been asked on Instagram recently, there’s one question I’ve been asked the most. By far.
What are you getting your teenagers for Christmas ?
If you’re new here, my oldest two daughters are 15 and 13.
My response (up until now ) has been I HAVE NO IDEA. Probably just gift cards. Again. Sigh.
But this weekend I decided to sit down and really think about it. I thought and thought and searched and shopped and thought some more. And I came up with this list!
To be honest, I had so much fun. I hope you’ll enjoy this list as much as I enjoyed making it!
Bluetooth Shower Speaker– Both of my girls are big shower singers. This one was a no brainer. I’m hoping they won’t fight over it, hahah!
Kendra Scott Josie Hoops– hoops are back in. Or honestly always in. I really like that these rose gold hoops have a modern, fun update on a classic hoop.
Trunk Club Subscription– I’ve been trying out this service for myself for the past year or so. And in my opinion it’s so much better than Stitch Fix. This service has an awesome preview tool. You can approve or skip items before the box even ships. Now…this gift is a bit more of a price commitment BUT I think it’s perfect for the kiddo who is transitioning into high school or college or even just wanting a more grown up/modern wardrobe. It’s like mother/daughter shopping from home.
Taylor Swift Journal– If you have a Swiftie, like I do, this one’s a no brainer. BUT. Please note shipping time. All TS merch takes foreverrrrrr to get there. It’s just a fact. So if you get this one, you’ll have to tuck a photo of the journal in your teen’s stocking. Still worth it.
Ilia After Hours Gift Set– Ilia is a great beginner makeup brand. I’m not really one to get too up in arms/obsessed with “clean” makeup- that’s a topic for an entire other blog post- but I do love this brand. It’s simple, light, and chic. The cream blush is great for a teen and the mascara is lovely. I feel like a liquid eyeshadow is also teen friendly.
Yeti Water Bottle– Water bottles are such a weird thing to be “in”, but it’s a fact that water bottles are so hot right now (Mugatu from Zoolander voice, hahahah). This white Yeti bottle is classic and clean and everyone loves a neutral. And if your teen is into water bottle stickers, she can add some to this bottle easy peasy.
AirPods– Is it only me ? Am I the only one who has someone who always has these on their list? The same person over and over because they lost them last time? Ahem. Anyway. AirPod Pros are a great price on Amazon right now. About $50 off.
Blush Cozy Slippers– Aren’t these cute? Cozy and neutral- that’s two checkmarks for most teens, if you ask me. Done and done.
Glossier Makeup Set– This is the other brand I always recommend when I am asked what makeup to get teens. Someone- AHEM SADIE- was ALWAYS stealing my Cloud Paint (cream blush) until I bought her her own set. This is SUCH a great teen gift. The mascara and boy brow are also good, good stuff. Yes. I own all of these items as well.
Tweezerman Tweezer Set– This is another item that is always magically disappearing from my vanity. It.drives.me. INSANEEEEEEE. Just get these so they will have their own. See my Sephora post to see why tweezer brand matters. Tweezerman is the best. Hands down. This gold set is so cute.
Sorel Whitney Boots tall / short– After living in Alaska for a year, Sorel Whitneys are my number one boot recommendation. They are phenomenal. And warm. AND CUTE.
Anthropologie Monogram Pendant Necklace– Gold layered necklaces are super trendy for teens right now- and I’ve picked up the trend as well. So freaking cute. This chunky initial necklace would be cute with a couple of shorter, layered delicate necklaces.
Italic Leah Camera Bag Use STEPHANIEH30 for $30 off any order over $100. I feel like crossbody bags are so great for teens. I own the brown version of this bag and it’s super chic. Not clunky at all and the silhouette is great.
Express Cozy Teddy Set– sets have been in for a while and cozy neutrals, bottoms with a bit of a crop top especially- are super popular right now. I love all of the options at Express.
Nike Blazers– I’m not a sneakerhead but Sadie is and she keeps me abreast of the trends. These Blazers (of course vintage ’77- my birthyear OMG) are at the top of her list this year.
Gold Ring Set– What I said about necklaces above is also true about rings for teens right now. Stackable rings and rings for every finger are Harper and Sadie’s JAM. I love this set from Amazon. They lose jewelry like no one’s business so I try not to go too expensive.
Athleta Inlet Jacket– I looked high and low for the black version of this jacket last year. It is so so so so so good. Insanely warm, comfy, and the silhouette is excellent. And.My.Teens.STEAL.IT. nonstop. So I feel fairly confident saying this would be a good gift. I may just give in and finally get them both their freaking own. Which they will then lose under their beds and continue stealing mine. Bahhahahhahahah. SOB.
Okay, that’s it! What do you think? Did you find this insightful or helpful? I’d love to know! Happy shopping.
