After spending 2 days in Cary, we knew that our next (and last) stop had to be Baltimore. We didn’t have long there. We rolled i to town around dinner time and we had to leave early the next morning.
There was only one reason I wanted to stop there (other than the fact that it is a beautiful town),and that was Laura.
After an..umm….interesting? incident while driving through DC,we arrived.
We stayed right on the Inner Harbor in a hotel with an amazing view. Here’s what I saw when we walked in the room:
We headed down to meet Laura and Charlie at a restaurant. I was SO sad that we didn’t get to meet Ken and Clara. But I have no doubt we will all get together eventually.
Laura and I have been friends since Harper was one. We started by emailing about The Bachelor (which we have almost every season since). She has come to be a true friend of my heart. I always suspected we could be long lost sisters. Tall, same size, same sense of humor, same awkwardness. And I was right. Meeting her was just as I thought it would be. Easy and natural.
It’s sort of heart breaking to meet these women (Gabby and then Laura) that I’d give anything to live closer to.Because as soon as I met them…I had to say goodbye. Such good friends.
And I could stare at Charlie’s eyes and lashes for days. He’s gorgeous.
Here are my favorite photos from our night in Baltimore:
And then after a night’s sleep, I woke up to this beautiful view. And unintentionally took a super cool Instagram! 🙂
Some people like to say that moving is a pain. But I really, truly think of it as an adventure.
I will always remember this time in our lives and it was such a blessing to meet some of my favorite ladies and see such beautiful scenery.
Happy Wednesday…our household goods are supposed to come today, wish us luck!!

Oh, the Inner Harbor. It is such a beautiful place to be and so much to take in. I’ve only been three times in my lifetime, but it was three amazing trips. Just thinking of it makes my mouth water for some Maryland crabs. Yum.
Very cool photos of your window view — love the reflections.

So awesome! The internet has its drawbacks, but the fact that you can make friendships over distance is pretty amazing. I ‘met’ a bunch of cool ladies as part of a mommy-to-be group back in 2002 and we still are connected (although the group is smaller) today 10 years later. I’ve met a few in person a couple of times, and it’s like you say, easy and natural. Modern day pen pals 😀

I too have always thought that moving was an adventure. Good luck with the movers and all the paperwork. I hate having to check off every single box as they come into the house and pray that everything makes it.

You and Laura do look alike. Funny how that happens. Glad y’all had such a fun and exciting trip to your new home. Heard about your furniture though…saw that on Twitter. That really sticks. I know it’s aggravating for sure. Hope it all works out okay…maybe you’ll be able to replace it with something just as wonderful and start a new “story”. Have a good day friend…and thanks for sharing.

I would like you to adventure your way through Chicago, please. Not because I want you to move again, just because I want to meet the Howell family that I read so much about. 🙂
Happy unpacking!

Wait, did you just call me awkward?
😉
I have to say, I gave up on Bachelor Pad last night. I couldn’t focus on it and I think it was making me stupid.
Thank you for not mentioning Charlie’s 20-minute scream fit when we first arrived. I’m so glad he rallied.
Can’t wait to see you soon. Because I will see you this year. xoxo

moving is all about perspective!
I actually love moving but not the part of getting your stuff moved, but the actual changing scenery, friends, the adventure part! I def. could have been military, I ache for change sometimes!
I love seeing the moves you are doing and learning about different places through your blog!

I get what you mean about meeting long time friends IRL. I met up with 14 lovely ladies in Houston this summer. They are part of an on line sketch group. They were from all over the STates and 3 of us were from Canada. It was one of the best weekends ever! Too short by far but so much fun. I felt that I had known them forever, better than some of my longtime friends that live close by!

Love the unintentional instagram. I read it as you took the pic when you woke up first thing and my first thought was “Good thing you were wearing modest pjs”. :o) So fun to meet your online friends in person.
