Good morning y’all! We are off to a Red Sox game, but I wanted to share a new series with all of you.
I realized that I need to get better at documenting the homes I live in, since I move so often. I remember the homes I’ve lived in…but over time the details escape my mind.
Each week I’ll be sharing parts of this home that I love.
Today I’m sharing the entryway.
I smile every time I walk into this house. It’s bright and happy and the natural light is amazing. That’s something I’ll really miss when we move.
Right inside the door is this table and what is probably my favorite “happy spot” in the house.
Last week (which is in the photo above, the little table had fresh daffodils in a milkglass vase.
Here’s what it looks like this week:
Table: Pier 1//Print:Please Be Still (Jen Renninger)//Harney and Sons tea tin//Annie Liebovitz at Work//Domino:The Book of Decorating
This little table is my favorite place to put fresh flowers. Every time I walk in the door they are the first thing I see and so totally worth the price.
My favorite local spot is Chaves’ Gardens. The flowers are fresh and absolutely gorgeous. I love building my own bouquets. And when I check out the ladies always say “Oh! Who is this for???” and I say “me!”.
Hope you all have a beautiful and blessed Sunday.
See you tomorrow!

Stephanie, I too am an Army wife and I’m so glad that years ago I started a scrapbook just for the houses we’ve lived in because I knew remembering would be hard. When we move to a new place, I go back to the photos of the old and do about 4 pages per house. I’m brutally honest, documenting the good and the bad (and let me tell you, we’ve lived in some weird ones!) I also record the rent/mortgage payment because I thought that might be interesting to future generations. I usually include at least one photo with my daughter in it, so I can see about how old she was when we lived there. It isn’t fancy at all and doesn’t take much time to complete, and I’m so glad I’ve done it.
Thanks for your share – I look forward to seeing more!

I so wish my entry was bigger and more inviting. Love yours, and you will miss it but your next one in Italy may be even better! I love to buy myself pretty flowers too!

I love the series idea! I should get flowers more often too as I find them really uplifting too thanks for reminding me.

Love it – I’m newly inspired to find a table for a bare spot I have. I think it would make me smile, too 🙂

I love this first post in your series. What a lovely entryway you have, the openess and lighting is beautiful!! Great idea to do this more and keep an album of all your homes. The girls will like that one day and help them remember such happy times they had.

oh, what a great idea to document each home we’ve lived in! 🙁 too bad I didn’t think about this 13 houses ago, since now we are on what we hope will be our permanent home (until Joseph graduates from high school, anyway)! I do have pics of the outside of each home. Now would be a perfect time to go back and document what I can remember of each of the homes we’ve lived in. I bought a Gadanke journal to document our home now, since we’ve done renovations to make it ours!!
