j is at deer camp in vermont this weekend so that means that i have a little extra scrap time. what to do after you put the kids down…hmmm…
clean? nope. laundry? nope. MAKE SOMETHING! yes!!!
i’ve been wanting to scrap this photo of miss h for quite some time. i feel like she just radiates beauty in this photo. i just love it.
this week i received poodle skirt in the mail. it’s the first studio calico add-on that i have purchased since i stopped working there.it is very “me” and i knew i had to snatch it right up.
and the first thing i thought of when i saw the contents (especially the stamp set) was harper and how proud of her i am.
i picked up these star sequins at michael’s and i just love them. i scattered them across the page and adhered them using glue dots.
you can’t really tell in the photo, but across the right edge of the photograph i adhered lines of the basic grey vellum tapes. it adds a really soft, pretty touch.
i topped the tapes with what looks like a stamped image. but it’s not. 🙂 i was too lazy to find the right ink and stamp until i got it just right.
so i cut the stamp image off of the plastic packaging and used it instead. i layered it on a dear lizzy sticker and topped it with one of the crate paper washi stickers.
i’m really happy with how this page came out. it’s bold and soft all at once. kind of like my girl. 🙂
lately all of my pages are similar. doilies? check. sequins? check. dear lizzy and crate? check check. and i am just fine with that. i am having so much fun making things.
now to just catch up on the last 3 (maybe four?) weeks of project life. OOPS!
i hope your saturday is beautiful and blessed!
oh- before i forget, heather at 3 Scrappy Boys is having a great Veteran’s Day Sale. The entire store is 10% off and 20% of all sales will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. You KNOW this is a charity that is near and dear to my heart. PLEASE go check out the store. Thank you so much.

I love this layout, that picture of Harper really says she is growing up to be quite the lady! My hubby is off hunting this weekend so I am scrapping this weekend also. I have one done (which was a challenge to myself) for Shimelles Remix class that I wanted to take a picture of to post but the hubby took the camera with him…..whats up with that? He plans on shooting a deer (with his rifle) and taking a pic at the same time. Enjoy your weekend!

Your layout is beautiful. I love the contrast between the dark background and soft colors of the embellishments. Gorgeous!

Just a quick Q for you Steph…You said you wanted to scrap this picture for a long time but yet you dated it current. So I am wondering how you do dates most of the time. I am one that writes on every LO when the picture was taken and on the back I write when I scrapped the page. I am so happy that you are able to find time to do alot of scrapping these days !!

Great question! I usually date the layout in 2 ways. 1. Date photo was taken 2. Date I journaled (if the two differ by a lot). On this layout I forgot to put the date the photo was taken so I added it on the back. 🙂 xoxo

Are you familiar with this song? I spent years in Wisconsin and every deer hunter I knew loved this song. Thought your hunter (and his “Deer-Widow”) might enjoy it.

I saw your layout on Pinterest and loved how you incorporated the doily into your layout. I am currently in the process of making a wedding album for my cousin and his wife of all the professional pictures and other things from the wedding weekend in Disney World. I came up with a layout and I wanted to use a doily on the layout. I have those dollies that you can buy from Michaels in the baking section, but they are not acid free 🙁 And I don’t want it to turn brown over time, because it won’t match the colors on the layout! I was wondering where you found the doily on this layout? If possible please send me a response.
Thanks
Happy Sunday

They are normal grocery store doilies.
