reasons #12938028 and #12938029 that i love savannah with all of my heart:
farm a la carte– i go every wednesday on my way to get harper from school. they have 1 lb bags of organic local blueberries for TWO dollars cheaper than the half pound cartons at the grocery story.
this week i got eggs and raw milk cheddar cheese as well. SO good and 100 percent local which i love. i am dying to try the meat.
but honestly…is this not the cutest, kitschiest thing you've ever seen? i'm kind of in love with it.
the trees and the homes. harper's school is in my favorite neighborhood in savannah. every day when i sit in the carpool line i just look at the homes and the moss longingly.
hopefully if we come back after RI we can live in this neighborhood.
i mean it…i am going to be heartbroken to leave this town. i love it so much here!
have a wonderful friday. π

Stephanie – my three sisters and I LOVED Savannah when we went last September for our “fall sisters trip”. It was like we were on a movie set. It’s so beautiful!! I love the history, the scenery and the wonderful food!!
Thank you so much for helping us to plan our trip! We ate at all the restaurants and shopped at all the shops you recommended!!
Hmmm…..maybe our next trip will be Rhode Island!

I loved the houses and trees in Savannah when we visited. I’m sure that you will enjoy New England just a much when all the leaves change to happy autumnal colors and you get to enjoy the major seasonal changes. You’ll love when your girls go out and play in the snow for the first time. Being in New England will give you a ton of opportunities for day/weekend trips to New York and Boston. There is everything from beaches to mountains.
I would love that little cart set up. So cute!!

Just wait until you get to Newport. Savannah is beautiful but Newport has its charm too. Some of the ocean view are breathtaking. The beaches and cliff walk are just gorgeous and the mansions are amazing. You will love it!!

You will LOVE Newport! One of my best friends lives there and we go to visit her a couple of times a year (we live in NY). The New England charm and hospitality is unbelievable – and wait to you see the houses and neighborhoods there!!! You just might be in for a little shock during the winter (ha, ha). Plus, I was excited when I found out you were moving there – I thought maybe I might to get to see my version of a ‘celebrity.’ Haha.

You will fall in love with Newport, RI…the mansions, the shops, the cute neighborhoods…a lot like Savannah…there’s a certain charm to RI in general and hey, you can get from one side of the state to the other in less than an hour…north to south OR east to west@ You will LOVE it!

I guess I assumed that after RI, there would be another “new” place to move to. Is the plan to return to Savannah? (That would be super awesome given that you love it so much!)
Kathy Martin says
Savannah sure is beautiful…I’ve always enjoyed your photos and stories about events and restaurants! I look forward to a time when we can visit! Wish our local farm had a cute little van to set up closer to where we live. We’ll drive there some weekends to pick our own strawberries, blackberries and blueberries! We always enjoy some homemade ice cream while we’re there and stock up on their organic produce. This last time we went they had cheese too….and a little meat. We tried the cheese and it was excellent! Did you know that really good, fresh apparatus tastes excellent raw!? Yes, mam it does! Something I learned on our last trip! I was tossing back a stock here and ther while supplies lasted! Grazing like a cow! π

When I heard you were moving to Savannah I thought, “There’s a match made in heaven.” Hoping you will love Newport just as much. I’m sure you will find the good in it as you have everywhere. It’s a sweet trait of yours. π
