Wow y’all! I was on a blogging kick until I just…wasn’t. Oh well! Not gonna dwell on it! I’m just gonna jump right back in. I’ve found in the past that the best thing to get me back is just to write. And really, who doesn’t love a nice rambly post? Okay…probably lots of people. I was reading the other day how much people dislike blogs and how they can’t bring them to READ SO MUCH. And as a reader y’all know that made me really sad.
Well I’m going to write anyway. You won’t offend me if you skip over my paragraphs and think tl;dr to yourself. I’m just going to keep on keeping on and doing what brings me JOY.

1. I’m so excited to be a guest teacher for May Flaum’s class True Story. In my portion of the class I share favorite all-time projects and talk about memory keeping. What it means to me, mistakes I’ve made in the past, what works for me now vs. what worked in the past, my creed and mantra, etc. I poured my heart into it a little bit and I I love how it turned out. 2. Y’all. I met my Goodreads Reading Goal last week! I read my 95th book of 2017 and I’m pretty proud of myself. I cannot get over how revolutionary 2017 has been for reading. Such an amazing year.

3. Do you guys think this will be the year I actually complete a December Daily album? Hmmmm. Forget the memory keeping aspect, I’m just dying to use this gorgeous Jasmine Jones December Daily kit I bought!

4. My sweet friend Elise has a new online class called Encouraging Creative Kids. She always inspires me so much with how she finds creative time for her and her girls. That’s something I REALLY need to work on. I’m enrolled in the class and hope to find some time this weekend to work through it. And TAKE NOTES. Honestly, I’m so lax in this department lately. Harper and Sadie will say “MOM! Remember when we did fun art all the time?”. Gahhhh I used to be so much more Pinteresting! I can’t wait to dig in and take some notes from the fabulous Elise. 5. I’m so happy to be creating regularly again. I’ve joined the creative team over at Studio Calico and I’m also their new planner coordinator. So happy to hear your planning talents got you back to SC? I think(?) that must be how I happened to start following your lovely family back in the day I don’t “plan ” but love another chance to follow you AND I find I always get inspiration for my craft even if I’m following an IG different from my main love.

It also makes me sad that people’s have given up blogs. I love to read them. Everyone is in such a hurry and they want instant results and gradification. Congrats on rejoining Studio Calico — hope it is a wonderful happy fit for you. 🙂 I’ve been reading nonstop since I was about four, so it makes me sad, too, that people don’t want to read to take in information. I’d be willing to bet that part of it is people spending more time on phones vs. larger screens (tablets, PCs). I like that reading is engaging in a way that video is not (and I enjoy videos/TV, too); I feel like it uses parts of your brain that don’t get utilized in other ways. I love looking at beautiful pictures on Instagram, but I still relish the blog posts of my longtime favorites (you, May, Ali, Cathy Z, Stacy J).

Yay for reading goals!! My goal for 2017 was 24 books (what?!?) I figured I could read two books a month, ha! Little did I know that reading would be my lifeline this year. I upped it to 48 books in June, then upped it to 75 in October. I am on 72 books so far, listening to books on hoopla was a game changer. I don’t know why I was so against it for too many ears.
I’ve always been a project life girl;however, for 2018 my goal is to get a big ol’ planner and do that. Everything is so cute! Both of my boys are now adults (sad face… 18 and 21) so school activities, etc are out. I am going to be a planner for ME! 🙂
I’ve been following you for so long now (more than 15 years I think) , how could I miss that new adventure!!!!

People don’t like reading blogs now?! Whaaat? I really enjoy reading your blog posts; in fact I tried to go right back to find some of your European posts before we travelled to various places in Italy this summer. I could read the posts but the photos wouldn’t show up, (was it something to do with not be migrated onto the new blog? I can’t recall) which was a great pity.
As someone has already said, it’s the authenticity of your posts that I like as well as seeing those sweet girls of yours grow up. I also like seeing the different places to travel to (and live). Thank you for sharing.
Love reading your blog! Whatever you want to write about is good to me, I just love to read about regular everyday life. And your reading posts are full of great ideas for me!
