How funny steph, I was checking your pins a couple of days ago for ideas for my scrap/craft room and I noticed you had pinned some rainbow party ideas for Sadie just recently and I was thinking there must be a party coming up! If you have a Hobby Lobby near you they have a whole isle of bright rainbow colored party stuff including lanterns, adorable metal butterflies, colored flower plates, napkins, etc., hopefully you can get a chance to check it out! I think Sadie would love the metal butterfly for her room also, since she loves the rainbow. It’s always fun to plan a party with decorations that you can repurpose. I’m thinking you don’t sew much but I would totally do a fabric bunting with bright colors, clip some photos to it, and then you could hang it above her bed after the party, but maybe her room isn’t rainbow colored? I’ve been working on one for my scrapbook room with scalloped fabric in aqua, grey, greens, and yellow, old hankies, and trims. I would totally show you a picture if I had a blog, must work on that soon. Love the layout of miss Sadie, she is definitely your one of a kind daughter!

Too funny! I just threw a rainbow party for my middle daughter a week ago. I have always laughed at the way that the way yoe describe Harper fits my oldest daughter to a T, and your Sadie is pretty right on for the way my middle daughter acts. It’s a wonderful and exhausting life, isn’t it? Have fun at the party and I love the scrapbook page. (And your blog!)

Love it!! I must say – your bog is my favorite. I read so many of your posts to my husband… They make me laugh, cry, and be inspired. As a new mamma who needs to create, I was especially inspired by your post about how creating makes you feel like you- I too hate it when people ask how I do it! I’m not abandoning my boy!! 🙂 anyway, you are awesome. Thank you!!

If you happen to make those cupcakes that are rainbow cake with the rainbow airhead extreme on top – FREEZE the airhead extremes before you put them in the “cloud” frosting. I made those a couple years ago for my rainbow lovin’ girl – and while they were ADORABLE and LOVED by all, they were a giant pain to make until my Mom came up with the freezing idea. Make sure that airhead gets planted in the cupcake – it will stand up once the frozen-ness wears off. Happy Party Planning!

I had a rainbow party for my daughter seventh birthday 1 1/2 years ago and made some super easy and cute cupcakes that maybe your daughter would like and could help created with you. I used rainbow chip cupcake mix, light blue frosting (white, dyed light blue,) and small marshmallows and striped sour airheads (the ones with sugar sprinkles on them, they come in a long narrow package, I needed about 3 I think for 30 cupcakes, also the airheads are flexible and have rainbow stripes on them.) I frosted the cupcakes light blue, and used the mini marshmallows to simulate two small cloud bursts-like 4 per cloud. I then flexed the candy in and arc shape between the two clouds to make a rainbow. It was very easy. Do not put the marshmallows and striped candy on the cupcakes though until you are at your party location. I also would not put them on the cupcakes more than a couple hours ahead of party time because the striped candy will then start to fall down and you will have to redo them.
I hope this helps. thanks for the great blog. I hope your daughter likes her party no matter what you decide to do cake-wise. 🙂
