i threw a little party last night, a cookie swap for the wives in my FRG (family readiness group).
it was fun to eat some delicious cookies, talk to some amazing women, and listen to a little christmas music.
but here's what i really want to share with you guys…
the cookies i made were so good!
HAHAH! no…not these. i wanted to show you guys my FIRST attempt. these.were.disgusting.
and jimmy keeps asking me what happened to the middle. I DON'T KNOW JIMMY. I DON'T KNOW. they disappeared. horrible, massive fail.
but then i found these:
and oh my goodness gracious are they amazing. and easy. they taste like snickerdoodles but with an almond flavor. and brown butter drizzle on top. mmmm.
here you go:
make them.eat them. and report back.
happy wednesday y'all!
xxo
those look really good…I’m gonna have to wait until this baby is born and I am cleared of the gestational diabetes, but ohhhhhhhh, can’t wait (for both baby and trying the cookies ~ lol)
eeeek! haha! sorry for tempting you, michelle. im so mean!! have a great day!!
I had a similar fail!! No kidding, I should have taken a photo b/c they matched these exactly. It was a huge waste of ingredients. Your table looks gorgeous. I bet the women went nuts. Happy Holidays.
is it wrong that hearing that makes me feel so much better?? non-domestic misery loves company. HAHAH! merry christmas! xxo
AHH! I baked all morning yesterday. π Only 2 kinds, but they rocked. I am going to get the tartar today, and try yours. π YUMMO! XOXO
awesome shannon! let me know how they turn out! π
Wow yours look even better than the ones pictured with the recipe. Must give them atry.
These look delicious- im talking about the first ones of course, hahaha…this almond cookie recipie couldnt have come at a better time- my christmas eve dinner “baking tray” is not even started…and i have requests for “assorted” treats (eye roll). Can’t wait to try these out- will let you know how they turn out! (p.s- tell jimmy those other cookies are “low fat/half the size” for santa hehehe)

I am going to make them friday with my girls!
YUMMY~ they sound delicious!
I haven’t done ANY baking yet!~ well if you count banana bread muffins, then I did ha ha!
My girls want to make sugar cookie cut outs and decorate them too. Friday might be a baking kind of day while hubby wraps presents and finishes up the the stocking stuffer shopping (he doesn’t know this yet)!
I am always LATE getting it all done>
love the tags!
p.s. what is it about having babies at christmas and having a cookie party? I did the same thing when ava was 5 months and savannah was turning 2! insane we are or what?! can’t imagine doing it with FOUR kids/twins! but I love you for doing it! you rocked it out!

Thanks so much for the real-life pictures and this recipe. I’ll be making these tomorrow! When I bake, I always just bake a few cookies on the pan the first time because my oven temperature is always wonky. But I’ve had recipe meltdowns as well. The good news is that children – big & little – don’t seem to mind what the cookies actually look like. They’ll still gobble them all up. π
Browned butter drizzle! WHAT?! Come to mama. I’ll be making these with the girls on Friday for sure. Beautiful table — love the milk glass! Merry Christmas to you!
Where are those adorable stamps from?? I can’t wait to try the recipe.
I think they are hero arts!!

Those cookies look delicious! And I bet I could even make them diabetic friendly! Wheels are turning….
Good lord, woman! You are awesome!
Those cookies sound delish π And i love your tags!
Your set up is amazing! Sorry for the cookie fail but sounds like you were meant to make those almond cinnamon cookies. π
After seeing those cookies I HAD to make them. I just finished a double batch tonight without the brown butter drizzle. We started eating them before the drizzle happened and my husband said not to bother they were perfect straight from the oven:-) They are pretty sweet…….I bet they’re over the top with the drizzle~
Actually not at all! Glad you liked them though. Happy Thursday!!
