sans the wicked stepsisters and stepmother.

let’s be honest…my job description is actually eerily similar to cinderellas.

scrub the floors? check.

wash the dishes? check.

turn down the beds? check.

of course my bosses are way cuter and so much sweeter.

but anyway…it was fun to play cinderella at the ball last night. we had the naval war college holiday ball at rosecliff and it was fabulous.

random fact- the great gatsby was filmed there~

which was fitting,considering i went for a 20’s vibe.

i think so. 🙂 it was so much fun.

amazing champagne,food,and conversation.

oh- and i didn’t turn into a pumpkin at midnight, but i did take my shoes off. hahaha!

yes. yes there is. there is the fact that for an entire week they will be saying “BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB”

instead of “mommy mommy mommy mommy mommy”. they ignore me when she is here. and i LOVE that. i get a break and she gets love.

well hello there!

so i have to admit i miss blogging every day. i really do.

but i’m in this weird place where:

a. i have so much going on that i keep forgetting and

b. at the same time, i’m not sure what to write about.

those two things make a strange combination.i mean how is that even possible?

…and that’s why there’s been radio silence.

anyway, i’ll just talk about what i’ve been up to. that’s better than nothing,right?

i’ve been trying to run at least a mile a day.

yesterday i got up to about a mile and a half and thought that might not seem like a lot to some of you…

it was a major triumph to me. here’s to sticking with it!

believe it or not, i’ve actually been scrapbooking a little bit!

i did two pages for a fun upcoming project i’m part of, and i’ve even doing some project life. way behind,but i’m doing it!

man, time really flies when you are sleep deprived. 🙂

we had a blast. super low key. just us,a cake,and a few gifts. oh, and balloons. there always must be balloons. 🙂

when my brother andrew and sister in law ashley (how cute are they btw?) were in town for thanksgiving, we did a little tour of newport for them.

above we are on the 40 steps at the cliffwalk, on the beach on ocean drive and at the breakers. totally downton abbey, no?

my little brother is an amazing chef.

he took over thanksgiving and i was HAPPY to let him. 🙂

my personal favorite? the lobster mac+cheese. YUM.

i wish he could come visit every year. and not just b/c he can cook.

hey lovelies!


i’m here in crazytown! between preparing for thanskgiving (my brother and sister in law arrive tomorrow morning),planning for cate and lucy’s second birthday on saturday, christmas planning, dress shopping for the holiday ball, preparing for my mom to come next week,taking care of the four chickies, and my job…well i’ve lost my marbles i think.

today i was convinced i lost my iphone. well, turns out it wasn’t lost. it was just wedged under my windshield wiper while i drove all over town.

awesome.

so i’m here. but stretched in a million different directions. a million HAPPY directions, but too many nonetheless.

and blogging always soothes my soul, so i thought i’d say hi.

i don’t know how much i’ll be around the next week or so, but i’ll try to sneak in here and there. i hope you all have a beautiful and BLESSED thanksgiving week.

documenting lucy and cate

it’s been a while since i’ve shared photos of the babies/twinners (bahaha) and talked about what they are up to.

these photos are from a while back at the corn maze. i never shared them and i wanted to today.

so…i know everyone thinks they have the cutest baby in the world. but honest to blog I DO. i have the cutest babies in the entire universe. and that is a fact.

i mean…just look at them!

they are HILARIOUS. and wild. they are into everything. they climb and throw and destroy. they are baby godzillas.

they can destroy our home in 10 seconds flat. and they do so on a daily (hourly?) basis.

they love snacks.

and bath time.

and elmo. they love each other so much.

unless they are beating each other up. yes. they are like the 2 stooges. face slapping,tackling,hair pulling, licking. it is out of control.

they have insane amounts of hair. crazy hair.

i tie it in tiny topknots every morning. cate somehow has a ratted birds nest in the back of her hair in the same spot every single day.

their favorite words are NO and CWY(color). they like to point and yell no at us in surround sound. it’s pretty awesome. not.

they are picky and stubborn. they don’t talk much so i usually can’t figure out what they are mad about. but they get MAD.

they say “sheshe” and “cake” for lucy and cate.

they freak out if we separate them. i once tried to take ONE baby to the grocery store and an epic meltdown ensued. i took both. if cate wakes up from nap first, i take her downstairs and she spends the entire time walking around with a furrowed brow,tilted head,and puzzled facial expression saying “sheshe? sheshe?”.

they think that they can do everything themselves. and they do not like you telling them otherwise.

they like to clean up clean up (deedup deedup) with a baby wipe. they will go full “cinderelley” and wipe the floor all day. they also like to throw random things in the trash. which is helpful. 🙂

they love music and dancing.

and their big sisters.

they like to kiss you on the lips while holding your face in their little hands.

they can throw themselves to the floor, limbs flailing,angrily screaming,limp noodling…like nothing i’ve ever seen before.

and in one week from tomorrow they will be two.

how did that happen? y’all i can’t even tell you how much i love them. they are so precious. our lives have been so changed by them. they are exhausting and beautiful.
