I’m kind of glad this week is over, it was a tough one.

I’ve been exhausted all week. You know the kind of exhausted where no matter how many hours of sleep you get, you still feel worn out in the morning?

Yeah, it’s been that kind of a week.

But we made it and it’s a new week now.

And it’s been SO beautiful here.

We’ve been playing outside lots and having picnics,

and I’ve been having a blast dressing the girlies in fall clothes.

Is there anything cuter?

I also did my Studio Calico November layouts…and I’m really happy with them.

Can’t wait to share. Here’s some itty bitty peeks.

I’ve got to tell you guys what I overheard the other day.

I’m pretty sure Love and Logic has overtaken this house, heee!!

Sadie has a bowl of measuring cups and spoons in the corner of the kitchen.

She loves to play w/ them,bang them together,etc.

Most of the time she just throws them all over the floor.

The other day H slipped and fell on one of the measuring spoons.

She got up, picked up the spoon,

cocked her head, and looked at it verrrrrry sadly.

“UH OH POON. wooks like someone needs some bedwoom time.”

She marches down the hall into her room, and of course i sneak behind her.

” SIT WIGHT HERE. you can come out when you can be sweet.  can you be quiet or do i need to close the door???”

Then she came out and played for a while. After a few minutes, she marches back to her room (all business).

“GOOD JOB POON!!!! i’m so pwoud of you. you can come out now!!”

Lord have mercy. This one picks up every single thing you tell her, I swear.

Thought you guys might get a kick out of that.

It’s interesting experiencing Halloween time with a 2 year old.

 

We’ve been to the arboretum, which frankly, doesn’t even deserve that name.

  

And today we went to the zoo, which is actually really good considering where we live!

Yes, I know it’s kind of random that I don’t have any pictures of animals,
but I couldn’t get a decent photo to save my life.

So that’s all I’ve got. Going, going, doing, staying busy.
And it’s working for now!

It’s a beautiful, beautiful day.

Cool enough this morning for long sleeves,

and about 80 degrees right now.

70 would be better, but let’s just say it’s almost the perfect day.

Emailing back and forth with J. this morning made it even better.

I sent him this picture of Sadie and he says he can’t stop looking at it:

He says he wouldn’t know what she looked like if I didn’t keep him up to date with my photos.

How sad is that?

But it makes me grin when he talks about how beautiful she is.

Because she sure is. Those eyes…sigh!

Before ballet yesterday:

We are in a good patch.

Content with life’s blessings, enjoying being together, and not too many tantrums.

This book really helped. It has made such a difference, I can’t recommend it enough.

I used Love and Logic as a teacher and love using it as a parent as well.

In a nutshell the tenets are:

• Helping kids feel good about themselves.

• The child is always left feeling he/she has some control.

• Adults learn to discipline with equal shares of empathy and consequence.

• The child is required to do more thinking than the adult. 

Anyway, thought it was worth sharing.

I’m just staying busy around here with the chickies…we finally painted the hallway and now I’m moving on to the countertops. We are thinking granite tile. Fascinating, I know. Hahaha!

Other than that, nothing new except for a few pages I want to share.
