Good Morning Sunshines!

I’m wishing we had some sunshine here. It’s cloudy and drizzly

and we are all STILL snotty and sneezy.

Oh joy!

Yesterday was Harper’s family observation day at ballet.

She was sad daddy wasn’t here to go, but so excited to take G-Daddy.

She’s really been noticing other little girls with their daddies lately and pointing it out ” Oh, wook! there’s _______ w/ her daddy. my daddy not here, though, he in ahgannisann”.

She knows J is coming home soon but only to “visit” and then he has to go back to work for a bit.

His folks are coming to visit this weekend and when I said “guess who’s coming to see you??” to H, she said “DADDY????????” and her eyes lit up and my heart broke.

Luckily, GrandDad and Nonna are a huge treat, too and run a close second. She’s been excited all week.

Something to Share

i’m still so excited!

my very first layout in Simple Scrapbooks-

and i’m so happy! it has become on of my favorite magazines in the past few months,

i just feel like their whole philosophy really matches mine.

so there it is, my dorky announcement of the day.

i mean, come on…I can’t show J, so i have to share with someone hehe.

some of you have asked what we got the sweet girls for Christmas.

the main things Harper is getting:

i’ve never been a movie in the car person, but we will have a move relatively soon in our future, not to mention that fort hood is an hour away…this will come in handy.

she’s been asking Santa for one of these every day:

And for Sadie:

(got one of these Gymboree skirts for both girls:)

They are also both getting books.

I followed Jill’s idea of getting them something they want, something they need, something to wear, and something to read.

And here’s my wish list (i plan on picking one of these things and purchasing it for myself)!

4. a new book

5. tripod

6. coach bag (this is a dream option, not one i would actually purchase)

So is This What Happens When Daddy is Gone?

Your two your old takes to calling you “sir”?

As in “yes sir!” and “no fank you, sir”.

At least she has good manners…

And then, here’s the kicker, the other day i get dressed

and she says “OH! MAMA!! YOU LOOK HANDSOME!!!”.

hmmmm.

thank you??

i think we are having gender identity issues over here.

daddy needs to come home, stat.

Looks like we have the sickies yet again.

Harper has been feverish and super emotional since yesterday.

Crying,crying,crying, crying and more crying.

Which means mommy has a headache and is super short on patience.

I keep praying for strength and patience. I need to be a good nurse.

She can’t help the way she is feeling.

So looks like the forecast for today is full of lots of hugs, love, tinkerbell, and popsicles.

And prayers that Sadie and I don’t get whatever she has.

Is this what it is like once you have more than one child? Is someone sick

all.the.time?

I ordered the girls this dress from Hanna Anderson (thanks to a great holiday sale they had):

I did take these HILARIOUS photos the other day.

The girlies were in matching pajamas and cracking me up with eachother.

Yes, I know never to use a flash. Yes I know the color is off.

But I don’t care! Mama didn’t have time to “set up the shot”!

I had to go with the flow.

Pajamas are Carters.

I’m pretty sure H is talking in this one (as always).

Okay this one makes me laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh. SO representative

of the two of them.

Mama, why won’t Sadie leave me alone???

My Little Punkin

Last night:

Don’t you LOVE our tacky all pink 50’s bathroom? Hee!!

I love the original pink tile, but the walls, the bathtub? Ewww.

Come on. The little lady before us must have LOVED pink.

And country blue and tacky yellow Formica, but I digress.

It’s funny b/c I had so many things I was going to do to the house while J was gone.

And ALL of those things have fallen by the wayside. I don’t think I knew that our

focus was going to be on getting through the days, not remodeling the house.

Oh well, lots for him to help us with when he comes home.

Many of you have asked if I could share my Christmas decor.

I just didn’t get too into the decorating this year.

There are a few things I want to share though, so I’ll do that later this week.

Hopefully I’ll get some photos today.

my hands are freezing.

my scrap room/the girlies play room used to be a porch, and it was later attached to the house.

there’s no insulation out here, so it is COLD early in the morning and late at night.

brrrr.

re: yesterday…for those of you that said I was the all red matchy matchy dorothy hamill haircut wearin’ teacher’s pet…you were right! hehehe!

harper’s new thing to say is “mama pell (smell) my breaf (breath)”

i don’t know where she got it, but it’s not my favorite thing she says.

nor is it my favorite thing to do. heee!

here are the chickies yesterday.

told you, i LOVE fall and winter clothes.

Sadie’s hat is Old Navy, her pullover is Gymboree, and the pants are Target. Boots are Robeez.

Harper’s hat and scarf were made by a friend. Her dress, tights, and boots are Target.

As you can tell, the leaves in our back yard need to be raked. That’s one of the things that falls to the wayside when daddy is away. We have a super sweet neighbor that was mowing his front lawn the other day and just decided to keep going and do ours as well. It made our week. (that was the pneumonia/ear infection week).

When it warmed up a bit yesterday, we hit up the flea market.

Apparently we haven’t been missing anything, it was BAD.

Once again it was almost all ginormous polyester (or something) panties,

sunglasses, fried snacks, and bunches of crap.

Which, as appealing as it sounds, is not what I was looking for.

But we did find a few things:

a beat up chair for harper. she needed a tall, solid chair to sit at her old school desk. i may eventually repaint it, may not.
