don’t feel like talking much tonight,
but i did want to thank all of you SO much for your sweet words and emails.
they mean so much to me right now.

Dreading
in 24 hours, i’ll be taking him to the airport.
i’m trying my best to keep a smile on my face, but it’s hard.
how do you concentrate on today, and not on tomorrow??
i don’t want to send him back.
harper can tell something is going on.
i explained again and she said
“if you are sad tomorrow, i’ll pet you mommy!”.
so sweet.
he’s in the shower right now and let me tell you i’m going to do my very best to make this the most perfect last day i can.
this morning he said
“try not to look at it as ONLY one more day together. try to look at it as a WHOLE day together. we get the morning, afternoon and night all together!”.
so i’ll try.
and the bathroom is still my friend.
it makes a great place to hide and cry until you can pull yourself together.
teehee.
i KNOW we can do this. four months is nothing compared to the past 8.
but to send him back is just really really hard.

It’s crazy.
Austin was great. We love it there and want to live there…
Hopefully one day.
J is out in the yard bagging leaves and doing yard work.
I tried to discourage him, but he says he wants to take care of his girls before he leaves.

It’s been so wonderful having J here…
Harper is all confused about lots of things.
For example she keeps asking him if he showers in his clothes.
Whaaa??? She’s a tad curious.

J is eating and sleeping LOTS.
It’s hard to say which one he is doing more. Hee!!
That’s good. I want him to be content and to feel safe.
That’s the main goal.
This is all about what he wants to do. Lots of boy movies and napping and delicious food and beer. And grinning at eachother like idiots who can’t believe our good fortune. heee!
So he naps. And I clean.
And look forward to tomorrow when we head off on our date.
And I soak up every second of him being here.
Of his hand holding mine, and the way he smells.
Of his sweet smile and the way he is with the girls.
Savoring the sweet feeling of not having to worry,
not having to look out the window every time i hear car doors slam.
The gift of knowing where he is and that he is okay.
And trying not to think about a week from tomorrow when he leaves.
Like I said, life is so very good. We are blessed.

Daddy Date
so these two are off on a daddy date.
build a bear and lunch.
harper was too cute all day.
she kept saying is it time for daddy date??
and the smile on her face was too sweet for words.
no doubt they are having a wonderful time as we speak.
this weekend i get MY date.
the girls are going to stay with my mom and dad and we are off to austin for
two nights. yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!
