Happy Thursday everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful week. Soo…next time I decide to start regularly blogging again, someone please remind me that SUMMERTIME is NOT the time to make said decision. Oh my goodness, what was I thinking? HA!
Nevertheless…I’m back.
And miracle of all miracles, I’m sharing crafty content. Can you believe it?
Last week we took a trip to NYC and when we came home I knew I wanted to do something with the photos. I wasn’t sure exactly what, but I did know that that something was NOT 12×12 layouts. That ship has sailed my friends. One thing that moving every two years has taught me is that I HATE 12×12 ALBUMS. WHYYYYY did I use that format for so long? Don’t get me wrong. The layouts themselves are great, and I treasure them and all that, but they are so freaking big and unwieldy. And they take up SO MUCH ROOM.
Thank goodness for Traveler’s Notebooks. They are little (but not too little) and easy and I love them. I love them even more now that Gossamer Blue has a TN kit.
I used several GB July kits for this project. If you haven’t taken a look at our kits in a while, GO LOOK NOW. They are all exclusive and so chic. I couldn’t be happier with the direction we are going!
Here was my plan of attack:
- print photos
- add photos and journaling cards
- go back and add embellishments (mainly dimensional and word stickers and washi)
- journal
Nice and easy, just the way I like it. Here’s how it came out:
SUPER FAT! Just the way I love my minis and TNs.
Title Page-
I actually used STAMPS for the title on this spread. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME? How cute are these? They were a GB new subscriber exclusive.
Under a photo of our Airbnb apartment I printed a little Google map of our location:
I wasn’t sure about these clear stickers but I have to say I LOVE them. They are the perfect embellishment and aren’t distracting:
This might be my favorite spread. Nice and simple.
How cute is the ice cream washi strip?
I added some of the TN paper under this tag to make it pop:
I ran this rubber “remember this” banner through my Xyron “X” -yes i still have one!- so that I could bend and adhere to make it wavy. Love the way it came out:
I am so so so happy with the way this came out, y’all!
Thanks so much for letting me share.
xoxo

So fabulous!
I hear you on size. I’ve started using 6×8 albums recently and am loving the size!
I love 12×12 pages but those albums are soooooo heavy!

This is totally awesome! How cool that you took the time (and let Miss Cora wreak havoc — saw your instastory — totally real) to make this while your memories were still fresh. Go, Stephanie! I’m newly in love with traveler’s notebooks, too and rethinking my binders full of 12 x 12. I may eventually scan them all and print photo books . . . we’ll see.

I hear you on the 12×12… all those Heidi Swapp albums that were supposed to be archive quality have all fallen apart on me. Even after just being on our bookshelf! I don’t know if they’re too heavy or what.
Also, you have the best journaling handwriting of all time. I love seeing what you’ve made!

Yay! Always loving seeing your work! Looks like a fantastic trip and so cool it’s all documented in a TN. Just an FYI….I’ve used a few of those rubber banners/embellies and after a while, it reacts with certain adhesives and leaves a slimy gooey mess and ends up sliding off the pic. Red line tape seems to work with these rubber pieces and not react….so keep an eye on your TN. Love that, “You’re baaaaaaaaack!
