Happy 2019 sweet friends! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. I’m not ready to admit it’s over. In fact, I’ve decided that since we are only getting about 4 hours of daylight each day here in Fairbanks…I’m not taking down my Christmas tree and you can’t make me. HA!
Speaking of daylight, I wanted to share my One Little Word for 2019. Light.
I’ve spent all of my time in Alaska in awe of light. Whether it’s the 24 hour daylight in the summer, or the non existent sunshine in the winter.
I feel like I took light for granted before. And now I’m just really starting to notice how precious it truly is.
I want to seek the light, but more importantly I want to be the light.
I want to love and support other women, other humans, and other families. I want to encourage my friends, strangers, and anyone who is hurting or lost.
Speaking of encouragement and new friends…
I started a Facebook Reading Group! I’ve wanted to do this for so long and I have no idea why I waited because the Bloom Where You’re Planted Book Group is bringing me so much joy!
It’s not a book club with assigned reading, but rather a place for us to share our love of reading. Anything bookish goes. I’d love for you to join!
In 2019 I plan on doing giveaways, read-alongs, author interviews and swaps. It’s going to be so much fun!
That’s it for today…sending all of you so much love. And LIGHT!
xoxo

I’m so excited! I started a facebook group in 2018 with my local FB friends, and we got together 4 times over the year to share a meal and chat about what we’ve read and loved and didn’t love and just be book nerds. This will be excellent fun!

The Book Group page has been so fun to watch over since it “opened for business”. I am really excited to read and share with other who have the same passion. Just like I have met great people through scrapbooking communities online (and have been fortunate enough to meet a few), I am sure this group will do the same. Thank you so much for jumping in wholeheartedly!

I’m so excited to be part of your Facebook group and connecting with fellow readers. The one thing I have been in awe of is how many names I recognize from the crafting world–card makers and scrapbookers alike–who share my love of books! You have done a fabulous job bringing light into all of our worlds! Keep shining bright, Stephanie!!!

I’m a member of the book club (and thank you for starting it), but wanted to comment on your Christmas tree. When I converted my former basement storage area into a craft room and filled it with so much stuff that I no longer had room for the tree (it’s an old artificial one that does not come apart), I set it up in my living room/den area (undecorated) and leave it up all year. Sometimes I turn on the lights, but sometimes it’s just like I have a tree living in my room. That I don’t have to water. So, leave that tree up as long as you want. 🙂
