*if you are here looking for the dear lizzy blog hop check the post below!!!**
sorry j,but i have to be honest here.
you didn't write me the best love letter i've ever received.
nope. that honor belongs to antoine. antoine was one of my students in 2nd grade. it was my first year teaching.
here's a taste of the letters he'd leave on my desk.
i have to admit that antoine had a way with words.
sometimes jimmy will lean over like he wants to whisper a sweet (romantic) nothing in my ear…and i will hear
"you smell like strawberry"
or
"you are so fine"
or
"you is bigger than me". (NOT my favorite. hahaha)
oh yes, that antoine was a wordsmith. wonder where he is today. he'd be…what…17 or so?
wonder if he's still the ladies man that he was at 8. sigh.
xoxo

TOO CUTE! Thanks for the smile 🙂
hahaha! kids are great!!! 🙂 *
this post made me just laugh and laugh!! …and i had to share it with my husband. maybe he’ll take a cue from antoine and write me some love letters! 🙂
oh my! thanks for that, it literally made me laugh outloud. that is just so sweet…and I love, after time has passed, you and jimmy still reference it. so cute. <3
hahahaha i KNOW!!! i still laugh until i cry every.single.time i read them. seriously.
Aww, that is so sweet. Now that is a memory to cherish. Out of the mouths of babes….
that’s so funny!
so sweet.
love that you have kept them all this time.
i keep everything my students give me/write me/make for me. 😉
Oh my goodness that made my heart*ache* just a little. *sigh* What a sweet (smooth-talkin’) boy! 😉 Whenever Jordan tries to verbalize how much he loves me he comes up with the cutest things!
Hilarious…pretty good spelling too. I love the little notes students give you through the years 🙂
I loooooooove these! Sweet Antoine, I bet he’s an even bigger ladies man now! HA! What a way with words… and yes, I double your “sigh” 🙂
That’s awesome.
Thanks for sharing! Everyone needs an Antoine once in their life. 😉
Dang, I love little kids 🙂
I also had an “Antoine”. His name was Travorous, and he was a fourth grader many years ago. I believe he has since graduated college. He gave me a black lace teddy for Christmas one year. No joke. Thank goodness I didn’t open it in front of him. The BEST part, his mom KNEW about it.
this might be one of the best things i have ever read.
HAHAHAHHA
aww that is just too sweet, i love that you have kept them 🙂
Awww… too cute.
I had a crush on a teacher in Junior High. I made my tiny best friend crawl through an open window to leave a heart-shaped box of candy on his desk on Valentine’s Day. She got stuck crawling out… it was too funny!
HILARIOUS! 🙂
How sweet. Primary school teachers make such an impact on our children,my daughter remembers her grade two teacher and because of her she is now studying teaching at uni.
Love your new photo btw you are looking fabulous.
Xx
aww you should look him up on facebook!!! always good to have an antoine in our lives…lol
This is so cute!
darling.
so cute. much cuter from a 2nd grader than freshmen boys. trust me. not so much, then.
i love that you kept these. and i love that jimmy brings them up. THAT is hilarious.
that is simply awesome Steph! thanks for sharing such a fun memory!
LOL, so cute! 🙂
so sweet. thank for sharing!!
Stephanie, this is so funny. We have a similar joke in my family. My mom found a letter from a girl to my dad in the 8th grade. Apparently, he liked her best friend and not her and she was scorned, it’s 3 pages long and we read it every time we all get together. We have never made it through the letter without crying from laughing. I’m glad we’re not the only ones 🙂
Love it! Thanks for brightening my night!
Really did smile big and laugh out loud to this post! So cute! Last week my son told me that the new student teacher that he has in one of is classes “is so fine. And she knows she’s fine. She does fine things”…Hahaa…What the heck are “fine things”??? Well, according to my hormonal 14yoa that means she bends down excessively and tosses her hair all the time! OMGoodness…boys! Do we need little, old, fat, stinky teachers to help these boys focus? LMBO!
That is really cute. How did you handle it at the time?
ps you are so fine, girl! 😉
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! completely and absolutely love these!!!!!!!!
p.s. i hope we can be friends even though you is bigger than me. as in taller. much taller. about a foot taller. or more.
snort!
That’s hilarious! What a keepsake! And a honeymooner too. Wow, he was smitten. Thanks for my daily belly laugh. So glad I found your blog and can keep up with your happenings. I knew you when you were we just called you Steakley!
So funny! And sweet!
This made me chuckle so much! Oh children, why do they have to grow up! xx
so cute
LOL!!!
Too hilarious for words! I bet you were fine…whatever that means! That young chap may be writing romantic stories now.
I think antione is somewhere writing songs for justin timberlake or robin thicke, and I always wondered what you smell like ;).
this made me laugh. out loud.
sidenote: love me some robin thicke. antoine+robin thicke…its all starting to make sense now.

This is hilarious. I have an 8 year old nephew and I can just imagine him writing something like this. I can’t remember when a guy last fell out of his chair for me. What a wonderful keepsake:)
Too dang funny!!!
Oh, how cute!
I teach 11-16 year olds so wouldn’t get anything as sweet as this, infact they find it embarrassing to even have a crush on a teacher!
Omg I have a second grade boy in school now – and I can imagine him writing something like this. And this is just too freaking cute I totally cracked up!
LOL! I almost peed my pants reading this! Too funny and thanks for sharing! 🙂
Soo cute!
Those letters are HILARIOUS! I would frame them so I can chuckle to myself every time I walk by. I love your husband’s sense of humor! He doesn’t seem to miss a beat. 🙂
