Oh October, what is it about you? I love you with all of my heart but you are NUTS.

I feel like everyone talks about December being busy (with the holidays) or September being busy (back to school)…but no. For us it is October.

I’m not sure what it is. Maybe it’s Jimmy being home and us adjusting to that. Or maybe it’s that the babies are into everything, so I’m running all day long with no time to rest. But whatever it is, it’s a whirlwind!

I thought I’d share some iPhone photos of what we’ve been up to. We are having so much FUN!

But a sidenote: corn mazes with “mr army ranger i have my own gps built into my brain” are not so fun.

and harper is my doppleganger. so she lead the procession. which is HIGHLY humorous in itself.

i wasn’t really paying attention to where we were, as i was wearing heels and it was muddy. i know WHO WEARS HEELS TO A CORN MAZE!!!! clearly i was not thinking ahead.

major howell was looking at the sun and doing weird secret calculations before we went in and every time harper would choose a way to turn he’d smirk or mumble “i don’t think that’s a good idea”.

hmmmph.

but don’t worry. we made it out and did not call 911.

the best part? we didn’t have a map with us but found one afterwards. we had gone in circles in a TINY portion of the bottom corner of a HUGE maze.

i had no idea.

by the smirk on jimmy’s face we’ll assume that secret agent GPS knew the entire time.

into EVERYTHING. and i mean everything. both crawling and pulling up constantly. cruising.

grabbing

snatching

eating

biting

drooling.

jibber jabbering

kissing

climbing

they stand in their beds and “talk” to eachother. blowing raspberries and pointing and giggling. i’ts precious.

we are all just SO in love with them.

lucy:

probably around 21 lbs.

thick dark hair

three teeth. two on bottom and one coming in on top.

is very into licking our faces right now. if i say “give me a kiss” she licks my face. it’s awesome

opens her mouth as WIDE as she can to eat. eats anything. screams at me if i don’t feed her fast enough.

says “all done” as a substitute for “NOW” she’s confused. 🙂

she chants it when she’s ready to get out of her car seat, crib, or when she wants more food.

stands all day long.

i am constantly taking things out of her mouth, she’s into everything.

loves baby mum mums. she yells MUMMUMMUMMUM when she sees them.

 

cate:

probably around 18 lbs. 

six teeth. four on top and two on bottom.

has a new face where she purses her lips in an “o” and screams at us to express her displeasure.

uses “all done” the right way…when she’s done. she likes to sign it too.

speed crawler, not as obsessed with standing up as lucy is but still stands lots.

doesn’t open mouth very wide when i feed her and likes to bite the spoon. makes eating time very messy.

has a wavy patch of bangs that is just wild. i can’t keep it tamed!

they will be 11 months in 2 weeks…i can’t even believe it!

the girl that says she still feels like she’s in her twenties in her heart but fully realizes that that’s silly b/c she would never want to relive her twenties and loves her thirties SO MUCH more.

the girl that blurts things out without thinking them through (when she is frustrated or mad) and regrets them IMMEDIATELY.

 

the girl who wishes she had zingers when someone is nasty, but never knows what she should have said until HOURS later when the perfect response comes to her.

 

i’ll always be the girl that is sick of hearing women that are size zeros talk about how big their butts are.

 

the girl that cries at beautiful songs. and sad movies. and even the x factor.

 

who is horrible at math. and cooking. and dancing. and doesn’t know how to drive stick. or use chopsticks. or whistle.

 

the girl who is good at reading. and loving. and making the best of any situation.

 

i’ll always be the 16 year old girl that panics every time she sees a policeman while she is driving, immediately checking her speed and wondering what she’s doing wrong…ha!

 

i’ll always be that girl that wishes she was more put together, but is happiest in jeans. a girl that loves the kind of jeans that are way too expensive. this girl believes a good pair of jeans can be life changing. 🙂

 

i’ll always be the girl that expects an email back and gets her feelings hurt (or gets kind of ticked off)when she doesn’t get one.

 

the girl that thinks inappropriate humor is hilarious and makes her laugh until she cries.

 

the one who prefers her beer in a bottle and her soda in a glass.

 

i’ll always be the girl that’s happiest when she’s at home surrounded by her children and husband.

 

the one that enjoys dressing up and getting out but can’t wait to get home
