it’s not deep or emotional, but it’s just one of those
silly, mundane, every day things about harper that i wanted to get down.

What It’s All About
I found a letter this weekend.
My grandfather, “Dandy”, passed away when I was in college.
He was a dear, dear man. Strong and God-fearing, funny and full of love for me.
I found a letter he wrote me when I turned three:
So now you see what got me thinking..
And crying…as I read this I couldn’t stop thinking about how much I will
appreciate it the rest of my life.
In one way, because of his words and his love for me,
and in another way because I see Harper in that letter.
My girl is so much like me, it’s not even funny.
The point is, get those words down.
If you do them on the back of the layout,
that’s wonderful.
If they are hidden, that is wonderful.
Just get them down.
Because that’s what it’s all about…well…to me, anyway.
Good Morning, Sunshines!
I can’t even begin to tell you how crazy busy we were this weekend!
we:
- Stripped wallpaper (also known as hell on earth)
- Organized the big barn in the back yard
- Mowed and Gardened
- Washed the cars
- Washed the house and took off the shutters (we are painting them black and painting the door red)
- Organized the girls’ clothes into rubbermaid tubs by size.
- Hung pictures.
- Organized the built in shelves
- Pulled up the ugly vinyl tiles in the bathroom
- Went to Loews and Home Depot more times than can be counted.
- Bought a bunch of ferns to hang on the front and back porches.
- Fixed the hot water heater.
- Went to Target 79,000,000 times
Crazy, I tell you! And J. still has today off. He goes back tomorrow, so today we will paint the shutters and
door, organize and clean..oh, and of course do laundry.
Guess this didn’t turn out to be much of a “vacation”, huh? But it’s been wonderful just spending time together. We play outside every day, have picnics every day…
Gosh, I’m going to miss him when he’s gone.
Well, I’d better go get started on the insanity.

Quite a while ago, my friend Heather asked me to guest design for All Moments Remembered
this month.
I was glad to say yes, she is a sweet, encouraging friend, and a wonderful member of the Studio Calico
community.
I enjoyed playing with the goodies she sent, such bright and vibrant colors.
Here’s what I came up with:

I tear up reading it. Those girls are my world.

Bonding at the Flea Market
Harper and I hit up the flea market bright and early this morning.
She loves having “special time” with Mommy and she was so
excited she could hardly stand it. She kept saying
- OOOH!! Special time with mommy!!
- Niiice! Good! Great! Special time!
- Go Flea Market for TREASURES!!!
- OOH! Jewelry! Please Mommy?
- Sadie no Mommy special time . Sadie baby Daddy Special Time!
You know- She is a treasure to me. She’s a sweet, good, baby girl and I love her so.
J goes back to work on Wed. We are having a blast being all together. I think this afternoon
we will go have a picnic and fly kites.
We recently found out he will be deploying in July. I’m dreading it, but trying to stay positive
and concentrate on the special moments we have right now.
I do wonder if Harper will ask where he is. I think that will just break my heart.

The girls loved spending time with their GrandDad, Nonna, Pops, and Nana
this past weekend.
And Jimmy and I got to go on a date…
dinner out complete with a margarita!!
I totally forgot what that was like.
It was lovely and much needed.
On another topic,
reveal night last night at Studio Calico
was SO fun and crazy…
and gosh, I’m exhausted today, but it’s totally
worth it! 😉
The June kit is beyond adorable. I couldn’t stop creating.
I still have tons left.
