so patiently.

It’s so odd to have Jimmy things showing up. Purchasing his soap,

two toothbrushes, a second coffee cup just waiting (yes i will make him drink out of the girlie coffee cup, teehee).

he left yesterday, but it’s a long journey. 

lots of stops, and possible back logs, and lots of waiting.

we are thinking we will all be together at the end of this week

or early next week.

so the waiting game begins.

i have no idea where he is…

lots of frantic eating and stomach hurting over here.

so excited,

also scared…travel in afghanistan scares me half to death.

just trying to stay busy. cleaning, pacing, checking my email and phone obsessively,

and i need to scrap. i have several more SC march layouts do do and you KNOW i ain’t scrapping when he is home.

i wanted to send you an early happy valentine’s day!

um, mine’s going to be verrrrry romantic. it will probably involve craftiness and tv. good times indeed, hee!!

i did a layout this morning with some thoughts i wanted to get down on paper for the girlies:

Journaling reads: Just like any classic, timeless love story, ours has its ups and downs.  There are many days that I don’t know what I’m doing, days where I have to go in the bathroom, close the door, cry for a minute, and then count to ten and come out.

There are days when I feel so overwhelmed and incapable of this job. Honestly. 

But there are so many more ups than downs.  So many blessings and so very much love.

The two of you have taught me how to love, how to be selfless, how to give.  I don’t even know what I did before you came along, Harper. You made me a mama. You changed my world. Wholly.

And sweet Sadie, you changed us all. I am so in love with my sweet chickies.  The kind of love that hurts my heart. I thank the good Lord for you, girls.

brings to mind another photo from the past:

so it was overdue.

we are all coughing and the babes are grumpy grumpy.

harper and sadie are not getting along very well,

they don’t feel well and are constantly annoying each other.

poor little things.

so that means lots of hugs and soothing and calm words from mama,

even though i don’t feel very well either 

and i’m also getting frustrated very easily.

but luckily i’m a REALLY good actress and i have gotten really good at using a gentle tone even when i’m screaming inside. HEEE!

i have to share this exchange from the other day.

i was driving somewhere, listening to the girls in the back seat.

sadie started shrieking like a banshee at harper.

harper: now sadie, wisten. no, no don’t make that sad face at me.

sadie: bah ma ma ma ma

harper: sadie, i wove you. i wove you very much

sadie: da da da da

harper: but i DON’T wove the *choice* you made to scweam at me. that makes me vewy sad.

sadie: uh ohhhhhh.

HEEEEEE!! gotta love my little mimic.

i’m still laughing days later, it was the highlight of my month.

yes, i’m aware that is sad. tee hee!!!

well i’m off to tend to the chickies.

harper spent the night at BB and Gdaddy’s house.

BB came over yesterday and harper said “BB TAKE ME WITH YOU”

you see, sadie has been a little sneezy and snotty…and she is teething,

so it is not a pretty sight.

and poor harper elizabeth was over it. so off she went.

don’t let that grin trick you. she is grummmmmmmpy.

oh, i want to share her birthday table decorations!

it’s the first time i’ve ever used a layout as a centerpiece. 

am i weird, or have y’all done this, too?

the table just needed something and i felt like it fit.
