i know four little girls that think their back yard is heaven.
and with a backyard like this…who needs household goods? ha!
yes…a riding lawnmower came with the house. π
as for me, as much as i LOVE the yard. and the house…i miss crafty goodies. how sad is that? i had them right under my nose for 5 months and barely touched them. now i crave creating. makes no sense, i know. π
have a beautiful and blessed friday!
xoxo

That’s awesome!! I always want to scrap when I can’t. And then I read when I could. π
Kirtley A says
That’s gorgeous. I’m sure the girls will love having that. I always say I’m going to start scrapping since I have tons of stuff but I haven’t touched it in two years. It’s just sat in boxes and followed us with every move. Do you separate your finished pages by year or for each girl? Do you have a separate book for project life?
Stephanie Howell says
my books are a MESS right now. everything is lumped into random albums. its on my to-do-list…but seems insurmountable!
MelissaS says
How wonderful! You will love Rhode Island π
i can’t wait to see photos of the girls sledding down that little hill in the snow!
Bea Monforte says
Wow, that’s awesome! I cann understand your girls, I’m 31 (32 next 11th) and with a backyard like this I would feel like in heaven!
Sometimes, when I need create something but I’ve not my craft things I use a sketchbook to “create” a little and for not loose the idea π

What a gorgeous back yard. I would love a yard that size… ours is about half a postage stamp size. These newer developments and their cramming people in. As for the scrapping, I think it is Murphy’s Law. π I haven’t felt much like scrapping and been doing some reading lately.
Miriam Prantner says
Oh the space to run and play! Love the view too! You guys are going to have an AMAZING year!
(You know, Target sells craft supplies…..)

How are you managing without your household stuff? I know what you mean about wanting to scrap – I left almost everything in Savannah because I thought I’d be too busy to create. And now I have all of these great ideas!
dori says

Beautiful yard!! Such a wonderful place for your girls!
Becca says
Wonderful yard, so many great memories to be made there. I understand missing the crafting. I always take something in the car (needlework)just to have it with me. Most times I never work on it, but it is comforting to have. Just a little reminder of me.
Davinie says
It DOES look Heavenly, friend! So happy for your little family. xoxo

What a fabulous yard! When I am on the road without crafty supplies I use a sketch book too. Writing down ideas and drawing.

This makes me miss the backyard we had back in Illinois! I also have the same problem with wanting to scrap when I can’t–never mind that my scrap area has been gathering dust since the beginning of this year. Your girls will have so many fond memories of that beautiful backyard!
Marian says
Beautiful. I wish you a magical year!!
kate says
Be careful, don’t get lost in your own backyard! May you can craft some signs.. π
Gayle W. says
How awesome is that?! Gee … great house, huge yard, magnificent view, vineyard next door … yep, who needs household goods? π Maybe some outings to explore the new territory will keep your mind off of creating for just a wee bit longer. Ya, probably not. Hurry up, silly movers!
Linda says
I have to admit, I don’t read your posts much. I am more of a picture girl and I enjoy seeing your girls growing so fast. Are the bigs old enough to do interviews of the memories they have from the photos you scrap?
One thing I wish of seeing the photos of my childhood we be to know what I was thinking or doing….and not what my mother had written.
Stephanie Howell says
great idea. thanks!

Hello Stephanie!
Like many of the other readers, I’ve been reading your blog for quite some time now. Since Sadie was 2 years old I believe. I really enjoy it inmensely.
I am from Puerto Rico, but two months ago, my family moved to New Jersey. I have been quite homesick these past two months. I’ve missed my beautiful caribbean island, my family, my friends, having to speak English everytime I go out, etc. Despite my homesickness, I’ve fallen in love with northern New Jersey, where we live. I love the woods, even though it’s very different from an island, that’s for sure.
Believe it or not, your excitement over the move to RI has helped me appreciate the good things about our move to NJ (which was basically because my husband was transferred). I know you move a lot because of your husband’s work, so I would love to see posts on how you make friends after each move. Tips on meeting people, on getting settled into a new place, new area. Also, posts on RI in general would be awesome. Now that I’m on the east coast, I told my husband I wanted to take a road trip with the kids to see all the states in the coast that I normally maybe wouldn’t have gone to if I weren’t so close to them.
I also enjoy inmensely your posts on the military. I’m curious as to why Jimmy deploys so often. Is that normal or was it because he was a ranger? What is he going to be doing now? Why do they work him so hard?
In sum, like the other readers have commented, I enjoy every blog post you do. I’m an avid scrapbooker and instagrammer (I follow your feed as well) and always enjoy your crafty posts. Also, being the mom of two kids ages 4 and 1 makes me appreciate your posts on life with littles, but posts on getting settled into a new place (making friends, finding good doctors, good places to buy food, church, etc) would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for asking!
Stephanie Howell says
kayra-first, i am so sorry you are homesick. i know it is SO so hard. my first move was very hard on me. i am proud of you for choosing happiness and deciding to see the best in your situation. its admirable and helps terribly. thank you so much for your comment, i would love to blog about your suggestions. xoxo

I know how you feel. I had all my stuff in Korea with me and never touched it but now that I can’t play with it because it is in transit I can’t wait for it to get here because I want to get crafty! Hope your stuff gets to you quickly!
Stephanie Howell says
its so CRUEL isnt it??? xoxo
