her birthday was the happiest.
the tricycle we gave her was a huge hit
( i’ll give you one guess as to who is already teaching her to do wheelies?!?!?!)
the gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, egg-free (what the HECK is in them anyway) cupcakes
with gluten, dairy, nut, egg free icing and sprinkles were also a huge hit (to the party girl at least, the rest of us got HEB sheet cake!!)
but my favorite thing, my favorite photos from the day
(even though the pictures are taken with a flash and super blurry)
was this look on her face as we sang “happy birthday” to her.
i half laughed/half cried/sang the song b/c i’m treasuring this look and know she won’t have it forever.
one day it will disappear to be replaced by eye-rolling and embarrassment. but for now, this look is what we get. and it makes my heart happy.
we went to austin today.
can i please tell you that whoever decided that REI and Anthropologie should occupy the same shopping center in austin is a GENIUS.
you see, rei to jimmy is as anthropologie is to stephanie.
we both got lost in neighboring stores for a good hour today,
jimmy with sadie, and harper with me.
i walked away with this:
and a beautiful, super soft violet colored jersey slip dress.
sigh.
and jimmy got some new shoes at rei. see? genius. both of us happy.
then we walked to whole foods and got picnic food and had a picnic at zilker park, followed by the botanical gardens.
here are a few of my favorite photos from today.
we have a pretty busy week, and we are off to DC on thursday.
i have the crafty itch big time, though, and i’m hoping that i get to do something this week. i have a guest design gig this month that i’m pretty excited about. =)
love you all!
