  5. Remember to put your frig on the coldest setting. Charge all things you can, pull out the old ‘ashion board games and puzzles. We are battening down our hatches as well. LOL Had no idea how much yard things we had umtil Andy and I had to lug it in. Stay safe.

  18. Stay safe. Wind is really starting to pick up here on the NYC/Long Island border. Don’t forget to have the flashlights and candles easily accessible, we keep candles on the kitchen counter with lighters, and a flashlight at the top and bottom of each staircase in the house. That tip about turning down the fridge temp to the coolest setting was great too – thanks for that Anne.

  23. praying for your safety as well. i’ve experienced the aftermath of both katrina and now isaac this year. hoping things change for sandy and it dies down significantly!

  46. Good luck. We just got stationed in MA a month ago. Welcome to New England right! My kids are home from school and we are baking some yummies to have on hand the next few days. My husband is a weather forecaster at Westover AFB…he is working hard for that money! Stay safe!

  48. Make sure yall have some cash and gasoline. Having been through hurricanes down here on the gulf coast, those two things are often forgotten. Stay safe and know that all of us and sending you our prayers to make it through the storm.
