i wanted to share a couple of instagrams from the past few days. they really sum up what it's all about to me.

i snapped this on new year's eve when they (meaning j and the bigs) didn't even know i was taking a photo.

the result makes my heart hurt. this is my family. these are the people i love and treasure more than anything in the world.

this is how we rang in 2012. i wouldn't trade this for all of the champagne and parties in the world. my heart.

so much about this one i love. the minnie mouse balloon the girls chose for jimmy, the look on lucy's face (she was DESPERATE for a bite of that cake), sadie's seriousness…the fact that my whole world is here in this photo.

just look at the look on cate's face. and those precious teeth. and just look at all of lucy's rolls in the background. HA! i love these babies so much.

  15. oh my goodness! Your husband with the birthday hat is too cute, your so lucky to have a hubby that doesn’t mind being silly, mine is the same but so many are far too serious! My new years resolution is to take more photos of the random moments, rather than wait till everything is perfect.

  17. I simply LOVE j’s birthday photo. The birthday hats=awesome! Oh, and the bathtub photo may or may not give me baby fever. I SO miss that phase 🙂

  20. We stay in and have our own celebration on New Year Eve… Hats, poppers etc… Then we go out for ice cream. My kids love it and so does my husband and I

  21. Precious. My birthday is New Year’s Eve and I’ll take a at home party with my girls and baby boy any time over fancy. Love your thoughts on these precious pics – totally agree with every one. : )

  28. I totally agree – who needs champagne and big parties to celebrate New Year’s Eve? Our 19-yr-old had a bunch of friends over for game night that night and it made my heart so happy to hear them yukkin’ it up and having fun while hubby and I watched a movie downstairs. That’s all I need, so I totally get what you’re saying.
