Happy Sunday, sweet friends!
I LOVE sharing beauty tips with you guys. I’m far from a beauty guru, but there’s something to be said about a 44 year old mom of 5 who loves teaching other women to love and take care of themselves the way they love and take care of others.
Do you have to wear makeup? NO. But is it a fun form of self- care? ABSOLUTELY.
Do you have to take care of your skin and wear SPF every day? I think you should. And it’s so easy.
Ulta is having their 21 days of beauty sale and I thought I’d update this post each day with things I own and love. I promise not to share items I don’t own and use. I’ve tested every item I’ll share exhaustively and extensively. Think years.
You can either place an order for shipping or do store pickup (that’s what I do).
Today (3/13) is the first day, and they are starting off with a bang. They have two of my favorite every-day holy grail items for 50% off.
By the way, I’ve heard the eyebrow pencils and setting spray are awesome, but I’ve never used them so I won’t be linking or reviewing them.
Check back daily, I will update this post every day! And as always, I will answer questions in the comments.
Saturday 3/26-
My recommendations:
IT Cosmetics CC Cream+ ($21/reg $42)–
This product is a cult classic for a reason. It’s the perfect everyday foundation. It gives you a beautiful glow and doesn’t look cakey. If you are not comfortable with makeup but want some natural coverage, this is the cream for you!
I’ve had this for YEARS and there’s a reason it’s one of my top 2 foundation brushes. It smooths out foundation beautifully, you can use it to “tap” and then blend with a Beautyblender, or you can just use a traditional circular motion. Just clean it often, because I feel like it does get saturated.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Friday 3/18-
My recommendation:
IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Anti Aging Moisturizer ($24.75/reg $49.50) –
I don’t have a photo of this because it is LONG GONE. Like…there wasn’t a single drop left. I despise the “anti aging” rhetoric. There’s no option when it comes to aging. I want to age gracefully, not NOT age…but I digress. This moisturizer is GOOD.
A little goes a long way. It’s thick and super hydrating but it does not sit on your skin. It makes your face glowy and hydrated and you’ll feel like a million bucks. It never broke me out or clogged my pores- I think it would be great for sensitive skin, too.
Note: I preferred to use this as a PM moisturizer because of its consistency. I prefer something much lighter for day.
Happy Friday!
Monday 3/14-
My Recommendations:
Nudies Nudestix ($17 /regularly $34)-
I currently own six of these. I think it’s fair to say this is one of my favorite cream blushes.
I talk about this often, but if you have mature skin CREAM PRODUCTS NEED TO BE YOUR FRIEND. Bronzers, eyeshadows, and especially blushes. They are a gamechanger when it comes to radiance and youthfulness. Just make sure to properly prep/moisturize your face first.
I have bloom and matte sticks and though I love them all…the bloom are my favorite. Just glowy and beautiful. They blend out easily and beautifully and are the perfect one and done product for lips/cheeks/eyes. I’m a huge fan.
My favorite two colors are Sweet Peach Peony (bloom) and Salty Siren (matte).
I also really like the Matte stick in Naughty N’ Spice.
Here’s a little video showing you how to apply. I used the included brush for application but I also really love using my fingers or a BeautyBlender (see below).
Have a beautiful Monday!
Sunday 3/13-
My Recommendations:
Tula Protect + Glow SPF ($18/regularly $36)-
This is one of my regular daily SPF choices, I rotate with Elta MD. It is gorgeous. Light and glowy and sheer and has a nice light scent. It absorbs beautifully into the skin. I often wear this (with a little lip balm) to drop the girls off and I regularly get compliments on my skin. It really does make you glow.
Beauty Blender ($10/regularly $20)-
I use these for EVERYTHING. I have an entire jar but only one is a true beautyblender. I’ve found some pretty passable dupes but only own one real BB because of the price. But they are HALF OFF today. What do I use these for?
E.ver.y.THING.
Foundation and concealer application, cream blush and highlighter and bronzer application, setting powder application.
But my favorite way to use one is with PIXI GLOW MIST for the best and easiest way to apply concealer to mature skin. No caking, no settling into fine lines.
Here’s a short video on how to use the sponge to apply concealer.
Okay that’s it for today. See y’all tomorrow!
