My 2015 Creative Credo.

1. I will have fun. If it’s not fun, I won’t do it. If it stops being fun, I give myself permission to quit and revisit later. If it’s still not fun, I will move on.

 

2. I will spend less time worrying about what everyone else is doing and figure out what works for me. As Amy Poehler says… good for them, not for me. If I start worrying too much about what everyone else does and thinks…see #1.

 

3. Instagram is a form of memory keeping. Blogging is a form of memory keeping. Artifact Uprising books are a form of memory keeping.

 

4. I will not just go in my craft room and clean. I will make messes. Sometimes I won’t clean the messes up.

 

5. I will finish a ridiculous amount of WeRMemoryKeepers Instagram albums.

7. I won’t feel guilt if I don’t blog daily.

 

8. I will make more tags.

10. I will make one layout a month.

 

11. I will start Project Italy again.

12. I will take my DSLR on my Italian adventures. I used it for the Bolzano Christmas market photos and I love how they turned out. Every few months will take photographs of my children using the DSLR.

 

13. I will let my girls contribute to my projects.

 

14. I won’t try to catch up.

 

15. I reserve the right to do all of these things, some of these things, or absolutely none of these things, depending on the day or on my mood.

  15. These were great to see! Last year I decided to have more fun, too–and it has worked perfectly! And I literally laughed out loud at “use the big camera.” I always debate whether to lug the big camera, and I’ve never regretted it.

  19. Love number 15 and yay for number 13: my absolutely favourite Project Life spreads are those that include hand written notes or drawings or paintings – or anything!- from my two littles….THAT’S what it’s all about for me!

  24. I’ve been terrible about using my big (good) camera. Mostly because I’m too lazy to carry it. I hope to use it more this year too as I always love what I get from it. I dragged it on a hike up a mountain in Austria to get Christmas photos of my children and I loved the results.

  29. I have a friend in France who has had a blog since she moved there 15+ years ago (the word “blog” had not yet been invented!). At the beginning she only used her BIG camera and photos were amazing. Then, like all of us, she started using a phone camera. Once in a while she uses the BIG camera and it truly is an amazing difference. There is no comparison. But what a pain to cart that heavy camera around!

  72. Your pictures are gorgeous, big camera or not. You write with such personality and sass, the fun kind. It’s hard sometimes to figure out what works for ourselves vs what everyone else is doing but you seem to have a good handle on it. I hope you have a great 2015 and I’ll be back often to see what you’re up to. 🙂
