NERD ALERT. I am so freaking excited. I’ve wanted to do this for forever and ever and ever and I finally just DID it. I created a Reading Challenge for 2019!
Listen. Reading isn’t a competition. I don’t expect you to read ALL of these. If you do, that’s FANTASTIC!!! But it’s more about stretching your boundaries!
A couple of notes:
- I am not a graphic designer. I know this image isn’t perfect but progress>perfection and I don’t freaking care if the text isn’t perfect. Bahaha!
- If you are wondering what Up Lit is, here you go.
- If you need help finding one of my recommendations, here is my Goodreads.
You can share here, on my Facebook page, OR you can share on Instagram and tag me using the #BloomReadingChallenge2019 hashtag.
I mayyy or may not have fun prizes for those of you who participate! YAY!
Happy Reading!
xoxo

SO MUCH FUN!! Thanks for putting this together. I’m an avid reader and get lots of my recommendations from you.
I will continue in 2019. YIPPPEE

This looks like sooo much fun!!! Sometimes I get too caught up in choosing a genre/book to read next. I don’t get to read as often as I like, but I feel like this is good motivation to get me going. By the way, i LOVE all your recommendations and appreciate the time you put into blog posts and instagram posts/stories sharing your passion of reading. This year I’ve read Dark Matter, A Man Called Ove, The Broken Girls, Then She Was Gone, Ghosted, and A Million Junes. I LOVED them all SO MUCH.
Thanks for being you and putting this together!
Keely says
I love this!! It will really stretch me for 2019. (Reading a Stephanie recommended book is the easiest as I rarely read anything that you haven’t already read and rated highly…) Thank you for sharing your love of reading on your blog and on Instagram.

So excited about this!! What is magical realism?
Carmen says
Magical realism is a genre in which the setting is the modern world as we know it, but then something strange/magical intrudes – for example, a baker puts her own emotions into the food she serves.

How fun. I’m in. I love your book recommendations. I’ll link up on Instagram. I’m a fourth grade teacher and I read every single day; can’t imagine a day going by in which I don’t pick up a book. Loving being off for the holidays right now as I’m tearing through a book every couple of days. Just finishing up The Broken Girls and have loved it.
Lisa Stein says
I’m so excited to participate. 🙂
What’s magical realism? Night Circus…?

As I said in response to your IG story i’m in… first time doing a reading challenge! Matter of fact i’m so slow I better start now!

LOVE! I already have read books because you loved them (like Dark Matter). I don’t know if I should admit it but a lot of times I will look specifically to see your review on a book that I am interested in reading to see if it may be worth it. You have such a variety in taste in books and seem to love heartwarming books, as do I, I guess that is why I look to you for recommendations. I like the list you came up with here, would love to join in!

2019 will be my 3rd consecutive year of trying to read 52 books throughout the year, this will be a fun challenge to incorporate 🙂
What genre is ‘up lit’?

Thanks for organizing this! I’m in! I used to be an avid reader but somehow that ended – this is a great challenge for the new year! Thanks Stephanie!

What a great idea; I’m in! I’m already “plotting” my course for the year. Thank you for doing this!

I will do my best to get all checked off the list. Sounds like fun!

Every year I have “read more” on my goals and every year I fail to meet the task. I am super excited to embark upon my first reading challenge! I can’t wait to follow along and see what everyone else is reading and recommending. I’ll be so delighted to accomplish even half of this challenge!
Heidi Benson says
I’ve taken your challenge and combined it with Anne’s (What Should I Read Next) and a slightly larger one from Pop Sugar. There is, of course, a lot of overlap in categories but I also found a lot of books that cover more than one. For example, “Persuasion” fits your “Classic” requirement, Anne’s “Published before I was born” category and PS’s “Published posthumously” challenge. I had so much fun selecting books because (all but one I’ll get from the library) they’re all. already. on. my. shelves. Now — let’s see if I remember to read from the list!
